Programs & Pricing

A program for every age — and a price that doesn't hide.

Our monthly base tuition is set to the DCYF Region 4 Licensed Family Home base rate for each age band — the same rate the state pays providers under the Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) subsidy. If you qualify for WCCC, you pay only your state-assigned copay (usually $0–$215/mo). If you're private-pay, you pay the rate below.

Rates shown reflect the Region 4 base rate × 22 weekdays. One-time registration fee is $50/yr. Transport pickup and drop-off is a separate $150–$300/mo add-on by distance. Overtime past your contracted hours is $15/hr. Late pickup is $1/minute. Sunny is open 24/7, so contracted hours can be daytime, overnight, weekend, or holiday — whatever fits your shift.

Infant

6 weeks – 11 months

$2,125
per month
Region 4 daily rate: $96.55

Small, calm space for babies. Feeding and nap schedules follow yours, not ours. State ratios for infants in a Licensed Family Home are stricter than any chain offers.

What a typical day looks like

  • Tummy time and floor play with age-appropriate sensory toys
  • Familiar caregiver, consistent routine — important for attachment
  • Daily log of feeds, naps, and diaper changes shared with parents

Enhanced Toddler

12 – 17 months

$2,125
per month
Region 4 daily rate: $96.55

The walking-but-not-quite-talking age. Bridging from infant to toddler activities with extra one-on-one support.

What a typical day looks like

  • First-words language exposure throughout the day
  • Push toys, walking practice, and safe outdoor exploration
  • Continued daily activity log

Toddler

18 – 29 months

$2,167
per month
Region 4 daily rate: $98.49

Independence, language, and learning to share. Toddlers learn fastest by watching older kids — mixed-age groupings give them that exposure.

What a typical day looks like

  • Potty training partnership with parents
  • Daily routine: circle time, free play, lunch, nap, outdoor time
  • Early letter and number recognition

Preschool

30 months – 5 years (not yet in kindergarten)

$1,980
per month
Region 4 daily rate: $90.00

Kindergarten-readiness without the institutional feel. Lots of reading, counting, drawing, and the kind of unstructured play that builds executive function.

What a typical day looks like

  • Letter and number fluency, basic phonics, name writing
  • Social-emotional skills: turn-taking, naming feelings, conflict-solving
  • Field-trip-style outings to nearby Renton parks (per WAC 110-300-0480)

School-Age

Kindergarten – 12 years

$1,733
per month
Region 4 daily rate: $78.79

Before-school care, after-school pickup from your child's Renton elementary, summer days, and snow days. The most operationally complex age — and the one parents need the most help with.

What a typical day looks like

  • Homework support and quiet space
  • After-school pickup from select RSD elementaries (additional fee — see transport page)
  • Drop-in summer days and snow-day rescue available

Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) families welcome

We're an in-network Licensed Family Home for WCCC. If you qualify, the state pays our base rate directly and your monthly cost is your assigned copay. Transport remains parent-paid as a separate add-on. We'll help you walk through the application during your tour if you haven't started yet.
